Today's the day...The 2024 NFL draft is here. The first round kicks off at 8pm ET on ABC/ESPN. It's widely known that the first pick is in with the Chicago Bears selecting USC phenom Caleb Williams. After that...it kind of a mystery. LSU's Jayden Daniels impressed everyone after winning the Heisman and most analysts believe he should be the first pick. It's hard to imagine The Washington Commanders would pass on him with the number 2 pick.
The 3rd pick is where the first round is going to really get interesting. Will the New England Patriots trade the 3rd pick or will they take a QB and hope the next Tom Brady walks across that stage to shake the commish's hand? It's believed if they keep the pick they will select North Carolina's Drake Maye.
After the impressive run of QB's the next best talent is WR Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State. The Arizona Cardinals should be taking him with the 4th pick to pair him with QB Kyler Murray.
The Chargers hold the 5th pick and it's not likely Jim Harbaugh is going to take a QB considering they have stud Justin Herbert. The desperately need a pass catching wide receiver and the next best would be LSU's Malik Nabers. However, lets see if Coach Harbaugh shocks the world and takes his University of Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy and really shakes things up.
One thing is for sure, the NFL knows how to put on an event and tonight will change the lives of a lot of young men and their families. Even with the NBA playoffs going on Detroit is the epicenter of the sports world.
