Timo Meier was born October 8, 1996 in Herisau, Switzerland. He is a right wing in the National Hockey League. 

Meier was selected ninth overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. On 8 July 2015, the Sharks signed Meier to a three-year entry level contract. Meier made his NHL debut on 16 December 2016, at the Bell Centre against the Montreal Canadiens and scored his first goal that same day. Following the Sharks defeat in the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs, Meier joined Team Switzerland at the 2018 IIHF World Championship. He was re-signed by the Sharks to a four-year, $24 million contract on 1 July 2019. He scored his first hat-trick on 28 December 2019, in a 6–1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. On January 13, 2022, he was selected to the 2022 All-Star Game. Four days later, he became the first player in Sharks franchise history to score five goals in one game, in a 6–2 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
