Rickard Rakell was born May 5, 1993 in Sollentuna, Sweden. He is a right wing in the National Hockey League.

Rakell was selected 30th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks and signed a three-year entry level contract with the Ducks on July 3, 2012. Rakell played his first NHL game on January 19, 2013 and registered his first NHL point on November 8, 2013. Rakell scored his first NHL goal in a Stanley Cup playoff game on April 25, 2014. On October 14, 2016, Rakell signed a six-year contract with the Ducks and in the 2017–18 NHL season, Rakell received a spot in the Pacific Division team for the NHL All-Star Game. He recorded his first career NHL hat-trick on February 25, 2018. On 21 March 2022, the Ducks traded Rakell to the Pittsburgh Penguins and on July 11, 2022, Rakell signed a six-year, $30 million contract extension with the Penguins.
