David Savard was born October 22, 1990, in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. He is a defenseman in the NHL.

Savard was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fourth round, 94th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Savard won the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021. After winning the Stanley Cup with the Lightning, Savard would leave in free agency to sign with the Montreal Canadiens on a four-year, $14 million deal on July 28, 2021.
