Alexander Romanov was born January 6, 2000 in Moscow, Russia. He is a defenseman in the National Hockey League. 

Romanov was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens on 13 July 2020. He led the Canadiens to the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals. On July 5, 2021, he became the youngest defenseman in Canadiens history to score a goal in the Stanley Cup Finals. On 7 July 2022, during the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Romanov was traded by the Canadiens to the New York Islanders.
