Will Redmond was born December 28, 1993 Memphis, Tennessee. He a Safety for the Green Bay Packers in the NFL.
Will Redmond was rated a four-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com during high school. He was rated the seventh-best prospect in the state of Tennessee by 247Sports. He was the 21st ranked safety prospect by Rivals.com. Redmond played on both sides of the ball for East High School. He totaled 1,355 yards passing, rushing and receiving his senior season, along with 18 total scores. On the defensive side, he totaled 51 tackles and four interceptions. Redmond returned nine kickoffs his senior season for 318 yards and two touchdowns.
Redmond played college football at Mississippi State. He played in eight games as a reserve defensive back his sophomore year. Redmond recorded 23 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss on the year. He made his collegiate debut against Bowling Green and recorded one tackle and a pass breakup. He notched five tackles including first stop for lost yardage at Texas A&M and matched his personal best with five tackles against Alabama.
Redmond served as a backup at corner and MSU’s nickel back his junior year. He tallied 51 tackles, three tackles for loss, five pass breakups and a team-best three interceptions. He tied for 11th in the SEC in picks with two of those being game clinchers. Redmond notched five tackles, including one tackle for loss, in the Orange Bowl against Georgia Tech.
Redmond was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round (No. 68 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. The Packers signed Will Redmond to the active roster on Nov. 6, 2018.
