Vic Beasley was born on July 8, 1992, in Adairsville. Georgia. He is an outside linebacker in the NFL.
In his early years, Beasley attended Adairsville High School where he was rated as the No. 16 athlete in the nation by ESPN, was the No. 37 athlete in the nation and No. 37 player in Georgia by Rivals.com, was the No. 34 outside linebacker in the nation and No. 37 player in Georgia by Scout.com and was the No. 33 player in Georgia by SuperPrep. He was an All-Southeast Region pick by PrepStars ... played running back in high school; had 120 rushes for 828 yards and seven scores as a senior. He had seven punt returns for a 17.3-yard average and two touchdowns and had just one kickoff return, but he took it 80 yards for a score. He had 102 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and an interception and played in the Georgia North-South All-Star game where he had a blocked field goal. He was a first-team all-state by AP and Georgia Sportswriter Association and was named all-county and all-area as a junior and senior. He had 57 tackles, two recovered fumbles, and an interception as a junior and had 15 receptions for 200 yards. He also played high school basketball and AAU basketball and averaged a double-double for the AAU Georgia All-Stars.
After he finished high school, Beasley committed to the University of Clemson where he as a freshman in 2011, he had two tackles in 16 snaps over nine games where Clemson had a 9-0 record in his nine games. He played two snaps against Troy on September 3 where it was his first career game. As a sophomore in 2012, Beasley was an honorable mention sophomore All-American by CollegeFootballNews.com and had 18 tackles, eight tackles for loss, a team-high eight sacks which was fourth-most in the ACC and was the only freshman or sophomore in the top 10, eight quarterback pressures, two pass breakups and one caused fumble in 288 snaps over 13 games. He had his first career sack in 12 snaps against No. 25 Auburn at Atlanta, Ga. on September 1. As a junior in 2013, Beasley was one of six finalists for the Hendricks Award, was one of 12 semifinalists for the Lombardi Award and was one of 16 semifinalists for the Bednarik Award. He was a consensus All-American, a first-team All-American by Athlon, Bleacher Report, CBS Sports, SBNation.com, SI.com, Sporting News, USA Today and Walter Camp and a second-team All-American by AP, FWAA, and Phil Steele. He was a First-Team All-ACC selection by media and coaches, was a first-team All-ACC by Athlon, CollegeFootballNews.com, ESPN, Phil Steele, and Sporting News and had 44 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 12 quarterback pressures, six pass breakups, four caused fumbles and one recovered fumble in 560 snaps over 13 games and 13 starts.
In his senior season, Beasley was one of three finalists for the Bednarik Award, was one of four finalists for the Lombardi Award, was one of six finalists for the Hendricks Award and was one of nine semifinalists for the Lott Impact Trophy. He was a first-team All-American by AFCA, AP, College Sports Madness and Walter Camp, a second-team All-American by Athlon, CBS Sports, FWAA, Lindy’s, Phil Steele, Scout.com and USA Today and was an honorable mention All-American by SI.com. Beasley was also an ACC Defensive Player-of-the-Year by media and coaches, was an ACC defensive player-of-the-year by Athlon and College Sports Madness, a First-Team All-ACC selection by media and coaches, a first-team All-ACC by Athlon, College Sports Madness, ESPN and Phil Steele and was a Senior Bowl invitee. After he graduated from college, Beasley entered the 2015 NFL Draft where he was selected in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons, becoming Clemson's highest defensive player selected since Gaines Adams went fourth overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007. On June 12, 2015, Beasley agreed to terms his rookie contract and in Week 2, Beasley recorded his first career sack, taking down the Giants quarterback Eli Manning, before generating his second sack the following week against Brandon Weeden of the Dallas Cowboys.
In 2016, Beasley moved from defensive end to the strongside linebacker position where he recorded his first sack of the 2016 season in Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders. Beasley had a breakout game in Week 5 of the 2016 season, playing the Denver Broncos, Beasley recorded eight total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles and due to his performance during the 2016 season, Beasley was selected to his first Pro Bowl, but did not participate due to the Falcons making Super Bowl LI. Beasley ended the season with a league-leading 15.5 sacks and was named First-team All-Pro and was ranked 40th by his peers on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017. In the 2017 season, Beasley played in 14 games with eight starts, recording 29 tackles and only five sacks after being moved from defensive end to outside linebacker and on April 25, 2018, the Falcons exercised the fifth-year option on Beasley's contract. He finished the 2018 season playing in 16 games with nine starts, recording 20 combined tackles, five sacks, and three passes defended.
