Tyler Newsome was born July 14, 1995. He played collegiately at Notre Dame and signed with the Chargers after going undrafted in 2019. He averaged 42.1 yards per punt in four preseason games that year and was released during final cuts.

Newsome signed with the Chiefs last April and was released before training camp in late July. He averaged 44.0 yards per punt in four seasons with the Fighting Irish, finishing his career as the school record-holder for career punting average.

In 2021, he signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
