Tim Ward was born on August 11th, 1997, in High Point, North Carolina. He is a defensive end in the NFL. Ward attended High Point Central High School and played college football at Old Dominion.

During high school, Ward had 75 tackles, 12 sacks, and two forced fumbles his senior season at High Point Central.

Ward played for the Old Dominion football team from 2015 to 2018. In 2015, Ward played in all 12 games as a true freshman making two starts at defensive end. He finished the year with 23 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He finished second on the team with seven QB hurries and had three pass breakups. In 2016, Ward played in all 13 games at defensive end. He 25 tackles, five sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. In 2017, Ward appeared in all 12 games, starting two games at defensive end. He made 37 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, three sacks, and finished second on the squad in tackles for loss. In 2018, Ward played in 10 games, starting six at the defensive end. He had a career-best 41 tackles while finishing second on the team with 3.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed Ward to a three-year contract on May 3, 2019.
