BIOGRAPHY
Taiwan Asti Eric Jones was born on July 26, 1988, in San Francisco, California. He is a running back in the NFL.
Jones began his career playing prep sports at Deer Valley High School in Antioch, California. Jones played both sides of the ball, playing running back and defensive backs. Jones was named MVP of the Bay Valley Athletic League and was his team’s MVP on offense. He set his school’s single-season record with 19 touchdowns as a two-way starter. He rushed for 1,466 yards and 13 touchdowns, and also scored three touchdowns receiving and two on punt returns. Jones also participated in track and field, at the prelims of the 2007 CIF State Track & Field Championships, he ran career-best times of 10.53 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.32 seconds in the 200 meters, placing 2nd and 7th, respectively.
Jones would commit to the Eastern Washington University to play his collegiate football to play defensive back. After playing a few games playing cornerback, Jones moved to running in 2009. Jones scored on an 87-yard run on his first collegiate carry and went on to earn third team All-America honors that season. Jones finished with 1,213 rushing yards in 2009 to rank as the sixth-most in school history. Jones finished the 2010 season with 1,742 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns which help lead Eastearn Washington University to a national championship.
Jones would forgo his season senior and enter the 2011 NFL Draft. Jones was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round with the 125th overall picks. Since joining the NFL, Jones has also played with the Buffalo Bills. He has played running back and seen time on the special teams. In his NFL career, Jones has 1,890 return yards with 52 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 183 rushing yards with one touchdown.
Jones was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round (125th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. On August 2, 2017, Jones was signed by the Buffalo Bills. On May 14, 2019, Jones signed with the Houston Texans.
Jones re-signed with the Buffalo Bills on March 30, 2020. Jones re-signed with the Bills on March 29, 2021.
