BIOGRAPHY
Stephen Carlson was born on December 12th, 1996, in Jamestown, New York. He is a tight end in the NFL.
Prior to his college career, Carlson was a two-time first-team all-state and all-league honoree, also named Post-Journal Player of the Year. He also played linebacker and strong safety and ended career with more than 2,400 receiving yards and 136 tackles.
During his freshman season in 2015, Carlson developed in both J.V. games and practices while adding depth to the wide receiver corps. In 2016 during his sophomore season, Carlson caught two passes during Princeton's Ivy League championship season. He made the first collegiate catch in season-opening 35-31 win over Lafayette and had an eight-yard catch during 28-0 victory over Ivy co-champion Penn.
During his junior season in 2017, Carlson earned second-team All-Ivy League honors at wide receiver after ranking fourth in the Ivy League in both receptions (71) and receiving yards (935). Carlson recorded 11 touchdown catches. He had at least one touchdown catch in eight of 10 games, including career-best three in a season-opening win over San Diego.
During his senior season in 2018, Carlson earned second-team All-Ivy League honors after recording 51 catches for 683 yards and five touchdowns during Princeton's Ivy championship season and the first undefeated year since 1964. He ended career ranked third all-time in TD catches (16), eighth in receiving yards (1632), and 10th in receptions (125). Carlson helped Princeton post the highest-scoring offense in Ivy League history, and the #2 scoring offense and #3 total offense in the nation.
Stephen Carlson signed a one-year contract with the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
On May 6, 2023, the Bears signed Carlson to a one-year deal after a rookie minicamp workout.
