BIOGRAPHY
Reid Ferguson was born on March 24, 1994, in Buford, Georgia. He is a long snapper in the National Football League.
In his early years, Ferguson graduated early from Buford High School. He was a five-star recruit according to chrissailorkicking.com and was rated the No. 2 long snapper prospect in the nation by Scout.com. He started at long snapper and guard all four years at Buford High School in Georgia and was a member of the 2009 and 2010 Georgia 2A state championship teams. In spring 2012, he enrolled at LSU.
As a Freshman in 2012, he played in all 13 games as LSU’s long snapper. He handled snaps on all 71 punts and 74 field goals/PATs, but only had one bad snap, that coming in season-opener vs. North Texas in what was his first collegiate game. As a sophomore in 2013, Reid played in 13 games, handling deep snaps on both punts and placekicks, where he snapped on 43 punts and 71 field goals/PATs. In his third season as LSU’s starting long snapper, he handled all but one snap for the Tigers on punts and placekicks during the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons. He also picked up three tackles on LSU’s special teams unit in the 2014 season. As a senior, he served as LSU’s starting longer snapper for the fourth straight season, playing in all 12 games, handling every long snap for both punts and placekicks.
Ferguson was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016. He was waived on August 30, 2016, and was signed to the practice squad on November 2, 2016. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Bills on January 2, 2017. Ferguson was named the Bills starting long snapper for 2017, where he played in all 16 games, and on January 28, 2019, Ferguson signed a three-year contract extension with the Bills through the 2021 season.
