BIOGRAPHY
Nicholas Williams was born on February 21st, 1990, in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a defensive tackle for the Chicago Bears in the NFL.
Williams attended Minor High School where he played basketball for two years before switching to football in his senior year. He totaled 25 tackles as a defensive lineman and also played offensive lineman, registering two pancake blocks. He had two interceptions, scoring one touchdown and recorded one fumble recovery and knocked down two passes.
After finishing high school, Williams committed to the University of Samford to play college football. After redshirting as a freshman in 2008, Williams saw the next two years as a backup role where in 2009, he saw action in seven games and tallied three tackles, all solo stops. He had one tackle against Jacksonville and produced two tackles against Miles College, while in 2010, he saw action in all 11 games, had nine tackles, including four solo stops and forced one fumble against Chattanooga. In 2011, he earned the starting role where he started all 11 games on the defensive line, tallied 23 tackles, including 17 solo stops and had three tackles for a loss.
After graduating from college, Williams declared to the 2013 NFL Draft where he was selected in the seventh round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was released by the Steelers on August 30, 2014, and was signed to the team's practice squad the next day. On November 24, 2014, Williams was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs off the Steelers practice squad and was re-signed by the team on April 18, 2016, but was released on October 18, 2016. On October 19, 2016, Williams was signed by the Miami Dolphins and was released on September 2, 2017. Williams then signed with the Chicago Bears on April 19, 2018, and was re-signed with the team on a one-year contract on March 15, 2019.
