Najee Toran was a three-star recruit and the nation’s 29th highest rated offensive guard prospect. Also rated the 64th best recruit in the state of Texas, Toran helped lead North Shore High School to a 12-1 record as a senior.

Toran played four years of college football at UCLA. He started at guard in the season-opener at Virginia, making it the third straight season a true freshman had started along the offensive line. As a senior Toran started all 13 games at offensive guard, and was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention by the league coaches. The offensive line group improved its rushing output by almost a full yard per carry from 2016. Rushing yardage, rushing touchdowns and rushing first downs all went up for the Bruins. UCLA was ranked third in the conference in total offense in 2017.

Toran was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018.

On September 2, 2019, Toran was signed to the New England Patriots' practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots on January 6, 2020. On July 29, 2020, Toran exercised his option to opt out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
