BIOGRAPHY
Michael Ford was born on August 4, 1995, in Alton, Illinois. He is a Cornerback in the NFL.
Ford played college football at the University Of Southeast Missouri State. During high school, Ford was a three-year starter at Marquette Catholic High School. He was named his team’s Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior. He rushed for 1,614 yards and 24 touchdowns his final year as a prep and ran for 1,000 yards and 16 TDs his junior season.
During his sophomore season in 2014, Ford moved to cornerback in the spring. He played in nine games and started one at wide receiver. Ford had five tackles, including three solos on special teams and made his first career start at wide receiver vs. Tennessee State (10/4). In 2015 during his junior season, Ford started all 11 games at cornerback, his first year playing that position. He was named Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference and was among nominees for the College Football Performance Awards FCS Defensive Awards and earned OVC Co-Defensive Player of the Week accolades on Sept. 13. Ford notched 44 tackles with 32 solo stops and led the team and tied for first in the OVC with five interceptions.
In 2016 during his senior season, Ford started seven games at cornerback. He collected 40 tackles, 30 solo stops, and three tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and six breakups. He finished with a sack and made his only interception in the season-opener at Football Bowl Subdivision Memphis (9/3).
Ford signed with the Detroit Lions on April 28, 2018, and was promoted to the Lions' active roster on November 14, 2018. Ford signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2023.
