Marvin Lewis Jones Jr. was born on March 12, 1990, in Long Beach, California. He is a wide receiver in the National Football League. He played college football at California.
Jones attended Etiwanda High School where he made the California Top 25 prospect list by Rivals.com. He played cornerback and wide receiver as a prep star, totaling 144 receptions, 2,349 yards, and 22 touchdowns, as well as 133 tackles and seven interceptions over his final two seasons.
He played four seasons (2008-11) at California, seeing action in 43 games, and had all 38 of his starts in last three seasons. His 156 career receptions tied for seventh in school history, his 2,270 yards ranked sixth and his 13 receiving touchdowns tied for eighth.
The Cincinnati Bengals drafted him in the fifth round (166th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft as a rookie appeared in 11 games with five starts and totaled 18 receptions for 201 yards and one touchdown.
In 2013 he played in all 16 games (three starts) for the first time in his career, hauling in 51 receptions for 712 yards and a career-high ten touchdowns. He also carried the ball eight times for 65 yards. In the Bengals’ postseason game, he had a big day with eight receptions for 130 yards.
During the 2014 season, he spent the season on the Reserve/Injured. In 2015 he started 13 of 16 games in his final season in Cincinnati. Finished the season with career highs in receptions (65) and receiving yards (816) and also tallied four touchdowns.
On March 11, 2016, the Detroit Lions signed Jones to a five-year contract. He finished the 2017 season with 61 receptions for a career-high 1,101 yards and nine touchdowns. In 2018, Jones played in nine games and finished the season with 35 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns.
On March 17, 2021, Jones signed a two-year, $12.5 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
