BIOGRAPHY
Marcus Kemp was born on August 14th, 1995, in Ogden, Utah. He is a wide receiver in the NFL.
Kemp attended Layton High School and played college high school at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. During high school, Kemp played both wide receiver and safety. On offense, he totaled 46 receptions for 804 yards and nine touchdowns and averaged 17.5 yards per catch. He was ranked eighth in 5-A in receiving. Over his career, tallied 57 catches for 1,006 yards and ten touchdowns; and 120 total tackles and five interceptions.
During his freshman season in 2013, Kemp appeared in 11 games at wide receiver. He finished with 11 catches for 110 yards and averaged 10.0 yards per catch. He had two receptions in four games – Oregon State (Sept. 7), Nevada (Sept. 21), Colorado State (Oct. 26), and Utah State (Nov. 2). Kemp had a season-high 35 yards receiving, including a 34-yard catch against Nevada…named to the academic all-MW team.
In 2014 during his sophomore season, Kemp was Selected third-team all-MW by Phil Steele. He started 12-of-13 games at “X” receiver. He led the team with 797 receiving yards and ranked second with 56 receptions. Kent tied for the team-lead with three receiving touchdowns and averaged 14.2 yards per catch. He was ranked seventh in the MW in receiving yards per game (61.3) and 10th in receptions per game (4.3).
During his junior season in 2015, He was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list. He appeared in all 13 games, starting six at wide receiver and led the team with 36 catches for 563 yards, tying for second with two receiving touchdowns. In 2016 as a senior, Kemp started all 14 games as ‘Z’ receiver. He led all UH receivers with 1,100 yards on 73 receptions, becoming the first receiver to exceed the thousand-yard mark in five years.
Kemp was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs on May 6, 2017.
