BIOGRAPHY
Larry Ogunjobi was born on June 3, 1994, in Miami, Florida. He is a defensive tackle in the NFL.
Ogunjobi attended Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, North Carolina. From 2013 to 2016 he played college football at Charlotte, recording 217 tackles and 13 sacks. At Charlotte he double-majored in computer science and biology, graduating with a degree in computer science in December 2016. Ogunjobi is the first player to be drafted into the NFL from Charlotte. He started all 46 games played and was a member of Charlotte’s first class of football recruits, became the school’s all-time leader in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks. He set the school’s single-season record for TFL in 2015 (14.5) and sacks in 2014 (five). Ogunjobi was named the Athletic Director’s List, Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll from 2012-15, and First-team All-Conference USA selection in 2016. Ogunjobi was named to watch lists of national awards such as the Bednarik Award for the nation’s top defender and the Outland Trophy for the nation’s top interior lineman. NFL draft experts and analysts projected him to be a second or third-round pick. He was ranked as the third-best defensive tackle in the draft by ESPN, was ranked the fourth-best defensive tackle by NFLDraftScout.com, was ranked the fifth-best defensive tackle by NFL analyst Mike Mayock, and was ranked the sixth-best defensive tackle by Sports Illustrated.
The Cleveland Browns selected Ogunjobi in the third round (65th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. Ogunjobi signed his contract with the Browns on May 17, 2017. On March 19, 2021, Ogunjobi signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. On March 2022, He signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
