BIOGRAPHY
Kevin Christopher Minter was born on December 3, 1990, in Suwanee, Georgia. He is a linebacker in the NFL. Minter attended Peachtree Ridge High School and played college football at Louisiana State University.
During high school, Minter recorded 137 tackles and six sacks as a middle linebacker as a junior. As a senior, he tallied 113 tackles while playing in only ten games. He was rated as the #15 Linebacker in the nation by SuperPrep.
During his freshman season in 2010, Minter saw action in 11 games with no starts. He finished the year with 15 total tackles. He was one of the most influential players on the team as he squatted a team-best 545 pounds in May 2010 and third on the team in tackles in the opener against North Carolina as he recorded six stops, including four solo tackles. In 2011 as a sophomore, Minter was LSU's starting middle linebacker who played in 14 games and made 11 starts. He was ranked fifth on the team in total tackles with 61, including 40 solo stops. Minter notched his first career sack for a loss of seven yards and finished with five tackles in the BCS Championship Game against Alabama. He scored his first career touchdown on a fumble recovery in the endzone at Ole Miss. He set a career high with 11 tackles versus Western Kentucky.
During his Junior season in 2012, Minter started all 13 games at middle linebacker. He finished the year with 130 total tackles, which ranks as the fourth-highest single-season total in LSU history. His 130 tackles ranked third in the SEC and 14th in the nation. He received the Charles McClendon Award as the team MVP and was named a permanent team captain for the 2012 season in a vote by his teammates.
The Arizona Cardinals drafted minter in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The following year, Minter appeared in all 16 games, starting four and totaling 44 tackles.
Kevin Minter has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the National Football League. On March 13, 2019, Minter re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
