BIOGRAPHY

Growing up in the Dallas suburb of Flower Mound, Kaden Smith idolized Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. Smith attended Edward S. Marcus High School, where he had varsity letters in football (4) and basketball (2). During his high school football career he had 144 career receptions for 2,260 yards. He was the nation’s top-rated tight end coming out of high school, a combination of brawn, hands, speed and smarts that appealed greatly to the school sometimes referred to as Tight End U.  

Committing to Stanford University, Smith redshirted his first year. Smith had 23 receptions for 414 yards and five touchdowns in 2017. In 2018, he was a finalist for the John Mackey Award. In 2019, Smith announced that he would forgo his senior season and declare for the 2019 NFL Draft. Smith was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round, 176th overall, of the 2019 NFL Draft.

 On September 16, 2019, Smith was claimed off of waivers by the New York Giants.
