BIOGRAPHY
Justin McCray was born on May 31st, 1992 in Miami, Florida. He is a guard in the National Football League.
Justin McCray played football for coach Patrick Burrows at Southridge High School. The team went undefeated in the 2009 regular season and won the district championship. McCray was named to the Miami Herald All-Dade County team as a senior for making 63 pancake blocks and not allowing a sack. McCray was also the district champion in wrestling as both a sophomore and a junior. McCray was recruited by USF, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Rutgers, Miami, Illinois, Marshall and FAU, but decided to play college football at UCF.
McCray appeared in seven games as a reserve offensive lineman and was voted onto the Conference USA All-Freshman Team in 2010. He appeared in 11 games with five starts at right guard (Charleston Southern, Boston College, at FIU, at BYU and at SMU) his sophomore year. As a junior, McCray started seven games at right tackle (RT) and seven at right guard (RG).
McCray had his best season at UCF his senior year. He started all 13 games, 11 at right guard and two at right tackle. McCray was named to the All-American Athletic Conference First Team, received a spot on Phil Steele's Postseason All-American Athletic Conference First Team and was a nominee for the Wuerffel Trophy. He was voted as one of three captains by his teammates, selected as UCF's Outstanding Offensive Lineman and earned the Iron Man Award at the postseason awards banquet.
McCray entered the NFL with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in May 2014 and spent that season on Tennessee’s practice squad. He signed with the Packers as a free agent on March 29, 2017.
McCray Was in the starting lineup for three of Green Bay’s top four rushing performances in 2018 (181 vs. New Orleans, 160 at Dallas, 160 at Chicago). He helped the offense rank No. 3 in red zone scoring (61.9 percent) and No. 5 in yards per carry (4.47 avg.) that year. In total, McCray played in 13 games with eight starts (five at RT, two at LG, one at RG). He became the first Green Bay offensive lineman to start games at three different positions since Jason Spitz and Daryn Colledge in 2008.
McCray joined the Houston Texans in 2021 before joining the Carolina Panthers in 2023.
