Josh Hill was born May 21, 1990, in Blackfoot, Idaho. He is a tight end in the NFL.
Josh Hill played college football for Idaho State. He was signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Hill lettered in football at Blackfoot High School. He also lettered in basketball and baseball. He was named First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference. Hill was also named All-Area by the Post Register and the Blackfoot Morning News. As a senior he scored 13 touchdowns on 47 receptions for 650 yards, helping the Broncos to the 4A state title. Hill scored the winning touchdown with 11 seconds left in a 41-38 win over Pocatello that sent Blackfoot to the title game, which they won against Nampa. Hill also earned First Team All-High Country Conference in both baseball and basketball. Hill was also a member of the BHS honor roll.
During his senior year at Idaho State, Hill played and started in all 11 games. He was the second best on the team in receptions as he had 70 catches for 630 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged nine yards per catch and 57.3 per game. Hill had a career-best day of 12 catches and 123 yards against Sacramento State (9/28). He again had 12 catches against Cal Poly (11/10) for 111 yards. Hill nabbed two touchdown grabs in season opener at Air Force (9/1), had one touchdown each against UC Davis, Northern Colorado and Montana. Hill had 10 catches in-game against UC Davis, earned third-team AP All-American honors and was named to Second Team All-Big Sky. Hill was named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team and represented Idaho State in the 88th East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Hill signed with the New Orleans Saints after not being selected in the 2013 NFL draft. After starting at tight end, Jimmy Graham was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in the 2015 offseason, the Saints offense relied heavily on both Hill and Benjamin Watson. Hill became a restricted free agent during the 2016 offseason. On March 22, 2016, he signed an offer sheet to join the Chicago Bears. Three days later the Saints matched the Bears' offer sheet and re-signed Hill. On December 31, 2018, Hill signed a three-year, $8.85 million contract extension with the Saints through the 2021 season.
He recently just signed a 1 year deal with the Detroit Lions.
