BIOGRAPHY
Josh Harvey-Clemons was born on February 20th, 1994, in Valdosta, Georgia. He is a linebacker in the NFL.
In his early years, Harvey-Clemons attended Lowndes High School where he was a SuperPrep Elite 50, All-America, and All-Dixie Teams. He was named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super 11 and Class AAAAA All-State team and was a member of the Georgia Sports Writers Association Class AAAAA first-team. He also participated in the 2011 GHSA All-Star game and participated in the 2012 U.S. Army All-America Bowl Armor All-American game.
after he finished high school, Harvey-Clemons committed to the University of Louisville where as a freshman in 2014, he appeared in 14 games with 14 tackles, including one for a loss, and a pass break-up. He was named one of the team captains for the Kentucky game and he registered three tackles against Florida Atlantic and two against Missouri and Georgia Southern. He was also a recipient of the Joseph F. Espy Football Scholarship. As a sophomore in 2015, Harvey-Clemons appeared in 11 games, making 11 starts, recording 66 tackles, one interception and recovered three fumbles. He was named CFPA National Defensive Back of the Week after he tallied six tackles and had two fumble recoveries against Kentucky and was named Defensive MVP at the conclusion of spring practice. After redshirting the 2016 season, Harvey-Clemons started all 13 games of his junior season in 2015. He was named All-ACC Honorable Mention and finished third on the team with 88 tackles on the season. He totaled eight tackles and one sack versus Texas A&M in the Music City Bowl, tallied his third interception on the season versus the Aggies and tied for the team-high in tackles with eight in the win over Kentucky.
After his junior season in 2015, Harvey-Clemons decided to forego his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL Draft where he was selected in the seventh round by the Washington Redskins. In his rookie year, he played 10 games primarily as a backup at inside linebacker; recording 10 tackles, half of a sack, and one pass deflection. In his second year, Harvey-Clemons played in 16 games, recording 22 tackles in which 18 of them were solo, 1 sack and 3 passes defended.
Harvey-Clemons was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round, 230th overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft. In his rookie year, he played 10 games primarily as a backup at inside linebacker; recording 10 tackles, half of a sack, and one pass deflection.
Harvey-Clemons opted out of the 2020 season due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic as he and his two sons have asthma.
