BIOGRAPHY
Joseph Edwin Jones was born on February 21st, 1994, in Plano, Illinois. He is a linebacker in the NFL.
Jones began playing football in the eighth grade. He attended Plano High School, where he was an All-conference running back as a senior. He played collecting 710 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 11 receptions for 328 yards and five touchdowns in eight games.
During college, Jones saw action in 37 games (5 starts) at Northwestern University, totaling 70 tackles (44 solos), three sacks (18 yds,), two passes defended and one fumble recovery. He appeared in all 13 games (5 starts) as a redshirt senior, finishing with 46 tackles (26 solos), two sacks (13 yds.), two passes defended and one fumble recovery. Jones played 13 games as a junior, posting 18 tackles (14 solos) and one sack (5 yds.) and tallied six tackles between his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons.
Jones was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys after the 2017 NFL Draft on May 12. Jones, played seven games with Denver and posted four special-teams tackles. He competed in training camp with the Cowboys and spent time competing on practice squads with the L.A. Chargers and Seattle... Signed to Denver’s active roster on Nov. 7. Jones made his NFL debut on special teams vs. Cin. (11/19).
On September 4, 2017, Jones was signed to the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad but was released. On September 19, 2017, Jones was signed to the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad.
On November 7, 2017, Jones was signed by the Denver Broncos off the Seahawks' practice squad to replace linebacker Kevin Snyder. He appeared in 7 games, playing mainly on special teams.
