BIOGRAPHY
Jeremiah Attouchu was born on January 17th, 1993, in Ibadan, Nigeria. He is an outside linebacker for the Chicago Bears in the NFL.
He studied at the University of Georgia Tech and is an outside linebacker that has played in multiple teams throughout his NFL career such as the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers, the San Francisco 49ers, the New York Jets and currently the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. In his early years, Attouchu attended Archbishop Carroll High School where as a senior, he had 118 tackles and 14 sacks while recording four touchdowns by blocking kicks or returning fumbles. He played three seasons of varsity football as a linebacker and defensive end and served two years as team captain.
After he finished high school, Attouchu committed to the University of Georgia Tech where as a freshman, he played in all 12 games and started in the Independence Bowl, finishing the year with 23 tackles, where 18 of them were solo tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, and one quarterback hurry. In 2011, he played in 11 games and started 10 times, leading the team in tackles for loss with 11.5, sacks with 6.0 and finished third in total tackles with 59, intercepted one pass, while breaking up two others and recovering a fumble, earning a conference honorable mention selection. In 2012, he played and started in 13 games, while registering 69 tackles, including 44 solo tackles, had 12 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. In 2013, as a senior, he played and started in all 13 games, recording 45 tackles, including 16 for loss, while adding 12.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble, while earning himself All-ACC and All-American honors. Attouchu finished his career as Georgia Tech's all-time leader in sacks with 31.5, surpassing Greg Gathers' 31 that he set between 1999 and 2002.
After he graduated from college, Attouchu entered the 2014 NFL Draft where he was selected in the second round by the San Diego Chargers. In the 2014 season opener against the Arizona Cardinals, Attaochu made an impressive debut, recording one strip-sack that forced a fumble and one blocked punt. He finished his rookie season with 10 tackles, where 8 of them were solo tackles, 2 sacks and 1 pass defended in 11 games. In 2015, Attouchu played 15 games, starting 12, where he recorded 48 tackles in which 37 of them were solo tackles, 6 sack, and 1 pass defended, while in 2016, he finished the season with eight tackles, two sacks, nine pressures and seven quarterback hits over eight games. In his last season with the now known as the Los Angeles Chargers, Attouchu recorded 4 solo tackles and 1 sack in 4 games. On March 15, 2018, Attaochu signed with the San Francisco 49ers but was released by the team on September 1, 2018. On September 3, 2018, Attaochu signed with the New York Jets where he played in 11 games, recording 7 solo tackles and 2 sacks, before being placed on injured reserve on December 19, 2018. On April 8, 2019, Attaochu signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
