BIOGRAPHY
Jerald Hawkins was born on October 16th, 1993, in Baldwin, Louisiana, and currently plays offensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.
He attended West St. Mary high school, where he was a three-year starter at both offensive and defensive tackle. He didn’t allow a sack as a senior in 2011 as he recorded over 20 pancake blocks; on defense as a senior, he recorded 70 total tackles, 35 tackles for losses, six forced fumbles, a safety, and a fumble recovery.
He played college football at Louisiana State University; in 2012, as a freshman, he redshirted. In 2013 he won the starting job at right tackle during fall camp and played and started all 13 games for the Tigers. He started 12 games at right tackle and played a total of 808 offensive snaps.
As a sophomore in 2014, he started all 13 games at right tackle, helping pave the way for 1,000-yard rusher Leonard Fournette. He ranked second among all LSU offensive linemen in total snaps with 834 and had 43 knockdowns for the year.
In 2015 as a junior, he played and started 11 games, all at left tackle for the Tigers, and played a total of 754 offensive snaps and recorded 38 knockdown blocks. After his junior year, he entered the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Hawkins in the fourth round (123rd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft; On November 26th, 2017, Hawkins made his professional debut against the Green Bay Packers. During the 2018 season, he did not play.
On August 31st, 2019, Hawkins was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now he currently plays with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
