BIOGRAPHY
Jayron Kearse was born on February 11th, 1994, in Fort Myers, Florida, and currently plays safety in the NFL.
He attended South Fort Myers high school, where he was rated the #16 athlete in the nation by Rivals.com. As a senior, he helped his team to an 11-2 record and recorded ten total TDs on offense. He was named the Defensive area Player of the Year.
He played college football at Clemson University; as a freshman in 2013, he played in 12 games and started 3 of those. He recorded Had 55 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, a team-tying-high four interceptions for 62 yards and one caused fumble in 444 snaps); he tied for fifth in the ACC in interceptions.
As a sophomore in 2014, he started 12 out of 13 games he played and recorded 67 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, one quarterback pressure, a team-tying-high two interceptions for 21 yards, seven pass breakups and one recovered fumble in 698 snaps.
In 2015 as a junior, he played 15 games with 14 starts and recorded 87 tackles, including 6.5 for loss, also had eight pass breakups and five quarterback pressures in 856 snaps; his tackles ranked him 5th in the team. He earned first-team All-America honors from the Associated Press and ESPN.com, second-team All-American, according to CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated; first-team All-ACC (coaches) and second-team All-ACC (media).
After the season, he announced that he would forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft. The Minnesota Vikings selected Kearse in the seventh round (244th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft; he played in 16 games (1 start), totaling seven tackles (1 solo) on defense and six stops (3 solo) and 1 FR on special teams.
In 2017 he appeared in 15 games contributing mostly on special teams, tallying 14 special teams tackles, 4th-most on the team. During the 2018 season, he appeared in all 16 games throughout 2018, making one start. He contributed as the nickel cornerback and led the team with 18 total special teams tackles on the season.
In 2021 he signed a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
In March of 2022, he signed a two-year extension with the Cowboys.
