BIOGRAPHY
Jawaan Taylor was born on November 25, 1997, in Cocoa, Florida. He is an offensive tackle in the National Football League.
Taylor began his football career playing at local Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida. Taylor would earn the 2015 Florida Class 4A First Team All-State honors during his time at Cocoa. He would also help lead his team to a 10-3 record as a senior and reached the Class 4A State Semifinals. He would commit to the University of Florida to play colleigate football.
During the 2016 season, he played in all 13 games and started 12 at right tackle. Taylor was the only Florida freshman to play on the offensive line. Taylor garnered Freshman All-America honors by ESPN.com, FWAA and Pro Football Focus, he was selected to the Freshman All-SEC Team by the leagues Coacheās and Gridiron Now, Taylor was also a Member of ESPN All-SEC Bowl Team.
In the 2017 season, he played and started in all 11 games. Taylor started the first nine games at right tackle. Taylor would transition to left tackle for the final two games of the season at left tackle.
Taylor declared for the NFL Draft following the season on 2018. He played in all 13 games and started 12 at right tackle. Florida's offensive line allowed just 18 sacks over the course of the entire season, which ranked 20th in the country and third among SEC team. He garnered Second Team All-SEC honors from Athlon Sports and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Taylor was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round (35th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. On March 13, 2022, Taylor reached agreement on a four-year, $80 million deal, including $60 million guaranteed.
