BIOGRAPHY
Javaris Davis was born on December 26, 1996 in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a defensive back for the Miami Dolphins in the NFL.
Davis was a swift, physical defender who can make an impact at corner in high school. He was first team Class 6A all-state for Coach Paul Pierson. He also played running back and receiver for the Commander.
He was a Times-Union Top 25, all-Gateway and Jacksonville player of the year. Rivals and 247 Sports have him among top 50 Florida prospects. He was a state runner-up at 100 meters and 4x100 relay.
Davis redshirted in 2015 at Auburn University. As a redshirt freshman in 2016, he played in all 13 games with 5 starts; 37 tackles (31 solo), 2 interceptions, 1 sack and 9 passes defensed. He was Freshman All-American and SEC All-Freshman Team. As a sophomore, he played in 11 games with 6 starts; 29 tackles (19 solo), 2 interceptions, 8 passes defensed and 1 forced fumble; 1 interception return for a TD; 1 kickoff return for 29 yards. As a junior, he played in 12 games with 11 starts; 41 tackles (36 solo), 1 sack, 2 interceptions and 10 passes defensed. As a senior in 2019, he started all 13 games; 43 tackles (29 solo), 2 interceptions and 10 passes defensed.
Davis was signed by Kansas City as an undrafted college free agent on April 30, 2020. He was waived by Kansas City on July 26, 2020. He was awarded off waivers to Miami on July 27, 2020 and waived by Miami on Aug. 6, 2020. He signed to Miami’s practice squad on Sept. 6, 2020 and was released on Oct. 3, 2020 before re-signing on Oct. 5, 2020.
