BIOGRAPHY
Jason Andrew Pierre-Paul was born on January 1, 1989, in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He is a defensive tackle in the NFL. He played college football at South Florida and was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. With the Giants, Pierre-Paul made two Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl XLVI over the New England Patriots.
Pierre-Paul was born in Deerfield Beach, Florida to Haitian immigrants, Jean, and Marie, who arrived in the United States in 1983. At Deerfield Beach High School, Pierre-Paul lettered in basketball for four years. After a serious leg injury while playing basketball, he took up football his junior year.
Pierre-Paul transferred to the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He earned the nickname Haitian Sensation. In the fourth week of the season, he was named the Defensive Lineman Performer of the Week in the College Performance Awards. After his junior year, he decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.
Spent time at three schools – College of the Canyons (Santa Clarita, California) in 2007, Fort Scott Community College (Fort Scott, Kansas) in 2008 and South Florida in 2009. In his college career, he played in 35 games, recording 161 tackles, 56 tackles for loss, 31.0 sacks, nine passes defensed, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. In his lone season at USF (2009), earned first-team All-America honors from Pro Football Weekly and was a consensus first-team All-Big East selection. Earned All-American and All-Jayhawk Football Conference honors at Fort Scott (2008). Named All-American and first-team All-Western State Conference at College of the Canyons (2007). Majored in interdisciplinary social services. Attended Deer eld Beach High School (Deerfield Beach, Florida). Lettered in basketball four times before playing football as a senior and earning Class 6A All-District IX consideration.
Joined Tampa Bay on March 22, 2018, in a trade with the New York Giants.
On September 26, 2022, Pierre-Paul signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
