BIOGRAPHY
Jason McCourty was born on August 13th, 1987, in Nyack, New York and currently plays cornerback in the NFL.
He played college football for the Rutgers University; He ended his college career with 148 tackles, two interceptions, and 20 pass breakups. He also finished second in the Big East in kickoff returns as a senior.
The Tennessee Titans selected McCourty in the sixth round (203rd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft; On June 23rd, 2009, the Tennessee Titans signed McCourty to a four-year contract.
He made his professional regular-season debut in the Tennessee Titans' season-opening against the Pittsburgh Steelers; McCourty finished his rookie season in 2009 with 29 combined tackles (24 solo) in 15 games and three starts.
In 2010 he started the Tennessee Titans' season-opener against the Oakland Raiders and recorded a season-high eight combined tackles and a pass deflection. He played in 12 games with six starts and recorded 44 tackles, two interceptions and ten passes defended; also made three special teams tackles.
In 2011 he started all 15 games he played in and totaled a career-high 103 tackles, his first career sack, two interceptions, 13 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery; he also recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for his first career touchdown.
In 2012 he was voted team captain for the first time in his career; he started all 16 games at cornerback and tallied 92 tackles, a career-high four interceptions, 15 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also returned one kickoff for 14 yards.
In 2013 he was voted team captain for the second time in his career, and he started all 16 games at cornerback and tallied 85 tackles, three interceptions, 11 passes defensed, one forced fumble and a returned fumble recovery for a touchdown.
In 2014 he started all 16 games at cornerback and led the team with three interceptions and 13 passes defensed. Recorded 85 tackles, two forced fumbles and returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
In 2015 he was voted team captain for the third time; he started in four games and posted 15 tackles and one pass defense. In 2016 he started all 14 games he appeared in and registered 67 tackles, two interceptions, 12 passes defensed and one fumble recovery; also posted two special teams tackles.
On May 16th, 2017, the Cleveland Browns signed McCourty to a two-year contract; he On May 16th, 2017, the Cleveland Browns signed McCourty to a two-year. He Registered a season-high ten tackles vs. Green Bay.
On March 15th, 2018, the Cleveland Browns traded McCourty to the New England Patriots; tarted at cornerback in 12-of-16 regular-season games, finishing with 68 total tackles, one interception, ten passes defensed and a forced fumble. He also added two special teams tackles.
He also started all three postseason contests in his postseason debut, totaling ten tackles and four passes defensed. He Broke up a would-be touchdown reception by WR Brandin Cooks in the Super Bowl LIII victory vs. the Los Angeles Rams as part of a defensive unit that held the Los Angeles offense to just three total points after they entered the game averaging 32.9 points per game.
On March 13th, 2019, he signed a contract extension with the Patriots.
In 2021 he signed with the Miami Dolphins.
