BIOGRAPHY
Jaquan Johnson was born on November 13, 1995, in Miami, Florida. He is a safety in the National Football League.
He attended Miami Killian High School, playing for both sides: defensive back and running back. During his high school time, he recorded 13 interceptions, and after his senior year, he was invited o the U. S. Army All-American Bowl.
He played college football for Hurricanes at the University of Miami; as a freshman in 2015, he saw action in all 13 games of the season, most of them in special teams. He made career debut in season opener vs. Bethune-Cookman; during the season he recorded a total of 26 tackles, one forced fumble, and one interception. During his sophomore season in 2016, he played in all 13 games and started in five of them as one of Miami's top contributors in secondary; he recorded in total 3.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery, and two pass breakups. As a junior in 2017, he started in all 13 games of the season and was among Miami's top defensive performers. During the season he led the team with 96 total tackles (54 solos) and added 3.0 tackles for loss and one sack; tied for the team lead with four interceptions and totaled 57 interception return yards and added four pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He earned ACC Defensive Back of the Week three times, this made him the first ACC player since Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson in 2014 to achieve this, and was a Walter Camp Player of the Year semifinalist. In 2018 as a senior Johnson started in the 11 games he played in, he led Miami with 92 total tackles in the regular season and added 1.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, one PBU, two forced fumbles and one blocked field goal. He was One of 14 Jim Thorpe Award semifinalists as nation's top defensive back and earned second-team All-ACC recognition.
Johnson was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round with the 181st overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he appeared in 13 games in the regular season and had three total tackles. In Week 16 of the 2020 season, he recorded a 13-yard pass to Siran Neal in the 38–9 victory over the New England Patriots.
Johnson signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023.
