Isaac Rochell was born on April 22nd, 1995, in McDonaugh, Georgia. He is a defensive end for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL.

In high school, He earned first-team Georgia Class A All-State honors by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a senior at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy. Rivals.com ranked him as the No. 9 DE in the country coming out of high school after he helped the Chargers to a 12-1 record in 2012, capping the season off with a Georgia Class A private state title, marking the school’s second state championship.

Rochell played four seasons (2013-16) at Notre Dame, appearing in 49 career games. He posted 63 tackles as a junior, the most by an Irish defensive lineman since 2007. Rochell was named a team captain as a senior and registered 55 tackles. He finished with 167 tackles, including 22 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in his career. Rochell was noted for his consistency and work ethic even when the Fighting Irish were not finding success on the field.

Rochell was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round (225th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut in the season-opening contest in Denver and appeared in two more games, totaling five tackles (four solo), a sack and two tackles for loss. He recorded the first sack of his career on QB Bryce Petty in the second game of his career. Rochell was part of a defensive unit that ranked tied for fifth in the NFL with 43 sacks.
