BIOGRAPHY
Henry Mondeaux was born on September 19, 1995, in Portland, Oregon. He is a defensive end in the NFL.
He attended Jesuit High School; he played for both sides as the offensive side of the ball as he displayed the athleticism to play tight end, fullback, defensive end and linebacker throughout his prep tenure. He started the three years in both sides of the line scrimmage and 2013 Metro League Player of the Year garnered first-team all-state accolades at tight end his junior and senior seasons while adding first-team defensive honors in 2012.
He played college football for the ducks at the University of Oregon; in 2014 he made an impact along the defensive line as a true freshman, making appearances in all 15 games. He was credited with nine tackles for the year, including a pair of stops in each of three consecutive games vs. UCLA, Washington, and California. He was deemed one of the defense's most improved players during spring workouts; the versatile Oregonian culminated off-season drills with three tackles (two unassisted) during the 2015 Spring Game.
In 2015 he became a fixture along the defensive front as the Ducks' lone underclassman in the starting rotation, posting 22 tackles while finishing third on the team in quarterback sacks (4) and fifth in tackles for loss (6.5); he opened seven of his 13 appearances yet ranked third among the defenders interior line in snaps (693), taking part in 118 plays at Arizona State and 95 in the Alamo Bowl vs. TCU.
During the 2016 season he was Oregon's Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman recipient (Joe Schaffeld Trophy) started all 12 games at defensive end in program's revamped 4-3 defense, ranking second among teams down linemen in snaps (802); he added 35 (12-23) tackles to his previous career total to bring three-year tally to 66.
In 2017 he started all 13 games at the defensive end finishing the year with 45 total tackles including six tackles for loss and five sacks; he recorded a career-high eight tackles against Arizona and was named Tough Man Award recipient as voted on by teammates.
He signed a future contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019; he signed a one year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
