BIOGRAPHY
Harvey Langi was born on September 24, 1992, in West Jordan, Utah. He is an outside linebacker for the New York Jets of the NFL.
In his early years, Langi attended South Jordan High School where he started playing football. After he finished high school, Langi committed to the University of BYU where he played in 36 games, starting 24. Throughout his career in BYU, Langi was named to the Phil Steele Postseason All-Independent Second Team in 2015, was named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-Independent First Team Defense in 2016, was named to the Butkus Award watch list in 2016, was selected to the Reese's Senior Bowl in 2017 and was invited to the NFL Combine also in 2017.
After he graduated from college, prior to the NFL Draft, on January 28, 2017, Langi attended the 2017 Senior Bowl and recorded three combined tackles and made the game-winning interception to help the South defeat the North 16-15. In the NFL Combine, Langi was projected to go as early as the fourth or fifth round and was ranked as the 13th best inside linebacker prospect in the draft by NFLDraftScout.com. Langi entered the 2017 NFL Draft where he signed a three-year contract with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2017. He was named as the third middle linebacker to begin the season. On September 17, 2017, he made his professional regular-season debut at the New Orleans Saints and made his first career tackle in their 36-20 victory. The Patriots managed to reach Super Bowl LII where they lost 41-33 to the Philadelphia Eagles. On September 1, 2018, Langi was released as part of the roster cutdown and on October 1, 2018, he was signed to the New York Jets practice squad. He then signed a reserve/future contract with the Jets on January 8, 2019.
