BIOGRAPHY
Greg Mabin was born on June 25,1994, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL.
Mabin attended Calvary Christian Academy, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he played wide receiver, defensive back, and kick returner. In addition to football, Mabin also lettered in basketball and track. He appeared in 36 games over his five years (2012–16) at Iowa. Mabin transitioned from wide receiver to defensive back for Iowa's 2013 spring practice. He played with 49ers teammates, QB C.J. Beathard and TE George Kittle. He graduated with a degree in health and human physiology.
Mabin comes from a family of successful athletes. His father, Wesley, played cornerback at the University of Nebraska, where he won two National Championships in 1970 and 1971. Mabin’s family also has NFL ties, as his cousin, Jordan Mabin previously played cornerback for multiple NFL teams from 2012-15 and his cousin, Dorin Dickerson, also spent time in the NFL as a tight end from 2010-15.
Mabin signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017. Later that year Mabin was signed to the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad. In 2018, Mabin was promoted to the 49ers active roster.
On September 24, 2019, Mabin was signed to the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad, and was promoted to the active roster the next day.
On October 20, 2021, Mabin was signed by the Tennessee Titans off the Cardinals practice squad. He re-signed with the team on May 9, 2022. He was released on August 30, 2022. He was re-signed to the practice squad on November 15. He was promoted to the active roster on December 10.
On June 15, 2023, Mabin signed with the Carolina Panthers.
