Fred Johnson was born on June 5th, 1997, in West Palm Beach, Florida, He is a guard in the NFL. 

During high school, Johnson was named to the 2014 Class 7A All-State Second Team. He helped lead Royal Palm Beach to a Class 7A regional final in 2014.

Johnson played for the University of Florida football team from 2015 to 2018. In 2015, Johnson appeared in eight games, starting two at right tackle (vs. Vanderbilt, vs. Michigan). In 2016 Johnson played in 12 games and started eight. He began the season as Florida’s right tackle but finished the year as UF’s starting right guard. In 2017 Johnson played in all 11 games and started 10 at the right guard. In 2018 Johnson played and started in all 13 games. He helped Florida's offensive line to allowed just 18 sacks over the course of the entire season, which ranked 20th in the country and third among SEC teams. He was named to the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List for his outstanding work in the community.

Johnson signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2019. After making the Steelers initial 53-man roster, he was waived on October 11.

On October 14, 2019, Johnson was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fred Johnson has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL. On October 14, 2019, Johnson was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals.

On November 8, 2022, Johnson was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad.
