BIOGRAPHY
Frank Herron was born on July 9, 1994, in Centreville, Illinois, and currently is a free agent. Herron attended Central High School and played college football at the Louisiana State University.
During high school, Herron was rated as a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and PrepStar and as a four-star by ESPN.com, 247Sports, and Scout.com, named to the PrepStar Top 150 Dream Team. Herron recorded 57 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and seven sacks in his junior season at Memphis Central High School, tallied 26 tackles, six tackles for loss, two and a half sacks, and forced one fumble in his senior campaign, he was rated as the No. 2 player in Tennessee by Rivals and 247sports and No. 6 by ESPN, ranked as the No. 5 defensive ends by Rivals and Scout while being rated as the No. 7 defensive ends by 247sports.
Herron played for the Louisiana State University football team from 2013 to 2016. In 2013 Herron was transitioned to defensive tackle from end, saw action in four games, registering three tackles, posted two solo stops at Auburn. In 2015 he played in all 12 games with most action coming at defensive tackle, accumulated 23 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. In 2016 Herron registered 20 tackles in 20 games at defensive end. He recorded his first forced fumble against Alabama when he sacked the QB, totaled three tackles in back-to-back games against Mississippi State and Auburn. Herron ended the game against Auburn with two solo tackles.
Herron signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018. On September 3, 2018, Herron was signed to the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad. On October 8, 2018, Herron was signed to the New England Patriots' practice squad for his second stint.
Herron signed with the Tennessee Titans on May 29, 2019. He was waived on August 31, 2019.
