BIOGRAPHY
Forrest Noah Lamp was born on February 21st, 1994, in Venice, Florida. He is an offensive guard for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL.
During high school, Lamp was rated as a two-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com. He was named a member of the South Team in the FACA North-South All-Star Game in 2011. Lamp helped lead Venice High School to a 17-6 mark in his final two seasons with the Indians, playing both ways, serving on the offensive and the defensive line in his senior season. He was honored as a First-Team All-State performer and First-Team All-Area following his senior campaign.
In 2013, during his freshman season, Lamp had an All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention team member, was a starter from day one of his redshirt seasons, starting all 12 games for the Hilltoppers. Lamp began the year as the team's primary right guard but shifted to left tackle for the final nine games of the season.
During his sophomore season in 2014, Lamp graded out as WKU's best lineman in 2014 and started all 13 games at left tackle during his All-Conference USA season. Lamp has started every game in his Hilltopper career (25 games) and has been WKU's starting left tackle in 22 consecutive games. His protection enabled WKU to set 49 team records in 2014, and he has been a part of the school's single-season total passing offense records in each of the past two seasons.
In 2015 during his junior season, Lamp was a First Team All-Conference USA performer. He extended his consecutive start streak to 39 games, including 36 straight at left tackle. Lamp was a Second Team All American by ProFootballFocus.com which regularly labeled the tackle as one of the country's best, including the top tackle from the Group of 5 leagues. As a junior, Lamp did not allow a tackle and just 11 quarterback pressures while also anchoring a line that finished the year No. 19 nationally in Sacks Allowed, with only 16 despite 554 dropbacks, the seventh-best percentage nationwide and second among teams with 500 or more passing attempts. He was voted a team captain as a junior by his teammates.
During his senior season in 2016, Lamp started 12 of 14 games for the Hilltoppers at left tackle, missing the Vanderbilt and Houston Baptist games due to an ankle injury, and did not allow a sack for the second consecutive season. For the season, Lamp allowed just four quarterback pressures over 558 pass attempts.
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Lamp in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. On May 11, the Los Angeles Chargers signed Lamp to a four-year contract.
