Erik Harris was born on April 2nd, 1990 in Los Angeles, California. He is a safety in the NFL
He is married and has twin sons, Isaiah and Elijah. They were born in the summer of 2013. When Harris was two months old, his parents separated and he moved to Baltimore with his mother. Then moved a second time to Pennsylvania when he was in the fifth grade. He attended New Oxford High School in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. He was captain of the football team and was named the All-Times Athlete of the Year. He attended California University of Pennsylvania, playing safety for the division II California Vulcans football team. In the four college seasons, he made 231 tackles on defense.
In his professional career, Harris was rated the 90th best strong safety in the 2012 NFL Draft by the NFLDraftscout.com On April 11, 2013, Harris signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, East Division of the Canadian Football League. In his years with Hamilton, he played in 45 games, making 79 defensive tackles and 27 special teams tackles. He caught a touchdown on offense and recorded three interceptions. In February 2, 2016, Harris signed a reserve/future contract with the New Orlean Saints. After Rafael Bush (formers Saints safety), New Orleans announced that Harris would play safety. In October 10, 2016, during practice he tore his ACL and was placed in the injury list reserve. He was waived by the Saints in September 2, 2017.
In September 5, 2017, the Oakland Raiders signed with Harris. In that year he played 15 games his first season, playing primal on special teams. In n the 2018 season Harris entered as a backup free safety. He played in all 16 games with four starts, recording 49 combined tackles, seven passes defensed, and two interceptions. On March 8, 2019, Harris signed a two year contract exertion with the Raiders.
The Atlanta Falcons signed him the 2021 season.
On November 28, Harris was signed to the practice squad of the San Francisco 49ers.
