BIOGRAPHY

Eric Weddle was born January 4, 1985, in Fontana, California. The San Diego Chargers selected Weddle in the second round (37th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. After a very successful long career with the Chargers and some Pro Bowl appearances he signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2016. In two of his three seasons he was selected to the pro bowl with the Ravens. 

On March 8, 2019, Weddle signed a two-year contract worth $10,502,050 with the Los Angeles Rams.

During Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Weddle recorded a team-high 15 tackles and 2 passes defended in the 55-40 loss. He finished the season second on the team with 108 tackles, along with four passes defended.

On February 6, 2020, Weddle announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons.

On January 12, 2022, after it was announced that Los Angeles Rams safety Jordan Fuller would miss the 2021 playoffs, Weddle came out of retirement and signed with the Rams' practice squad. Weddle and the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl 23–20, earning Weddle's first career Super Bowl championship.
