BIOGRAPHY
Eddie Norman Vanderdoes IV was born in Auburn, California. His parents are Eddie and Behia Vanderdoes. He has one younger sister, Baylee. He admires NBA players Lebron James and NFL players Ray Lewis and Ndamukong Suh. A few of his hobbies include long boarding and spending time with his friends. His football career started in high school, and also played basketball. He attended Placer High School in Auburn, CA. Rivals.com and scout.com. said that he was a five-star recruit. He was selected to play in the U.S Army All-American Bowl All Star-game. He was credited with 72 tackles and nine sacks for an 11-1 team in his senior season.
In 2013, Vanderdoes went on to play football with UCLA Bruins. He was named first team Freshman All-America by Sporting News and the Football Writers’ Association. As a sophomore in 2014, he was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection for the second straight year after recording 50 tackles, 5 1/2 tackles for a loss and 3 sacks. In 2015, he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee and was ruled out for the season. He had a team-high 11 tackles and 3 for loss in the 34-16 win over Virginia.
In the 2017 NFL Draft, he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round. He signed his rookie contract, a four year deal worth $3.16 million on July 5, 2017. As a rookie he started 13 games, recording 12 pressures and 10 hurries. During the final game of the 2017 season he teared his ACL, leading him to miss the 2018 season. He will return for the 2019 season with the Oakland Raiders.
