BIOGRAPHY
Duron Harmon was born on January 24th, 1991, in Magnolia, Detroit. He is a strong safety for the New England Patriots in the NFL.
Harmon attended Rutgers University. He earned All-Big-East First Team honors in his junior and senior years.
In the 2013 NFL Draft, he was selected by the New England Patriots. Harmon played his first NFL game as special teams against the New York Jets and registered his first career tackle on defense. In December, he started the regular-season finale vs. Buffalo and made three tackles. In 2014, Harmon played in all 16 games as a reserve and posted 12 tackles, one interception, one pass defense, one fumble recovery, and one special team tackle. Intercepted a Joe Flacco pass in the end zone with 1:39 left to preserve the Patriots 35-31 lead and ultimately clinch the AFC Divisional win vs. Baltimore (1/10). It was his first career postseason interception. Harmon went to his first Super Bowl XLIX against the seattle Seahawks and won.
In 2015, he recorded 19 tackles, a career-high three interceptions, five passes defensed and one special teams tackle. Harmon started in both playoff games at defensive back and registered one pass breakup. Harmon went to his second Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons In 2016, he finished the season with a tied for second-highest on the team with a season-high six tackles in the win at San Francisco. Harmon was named co-captain for the first time in his career. In the season he totaled 23 tackles, led the team with a career-high four interceptions and defensed seven passes. Harmon had three tackles and defeated Atlanta by a score of 34-28 in overtime. It was featured as the largest comeback in the SuperBowl history as the Patriots trailed by 25 points in the third quarter.
In March 2017, Harmon signed a four-year contract worth $20 million to remain with the Patriots. In September, he was named a Patriots captain for the first time in his career. Harmon went to his third Super Bowl, he recorded 5 tackles and 1 interception but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
In 2018, Harmon changed his jersey number to No 30. to No.21. Appearing on his fourth Super Bowl, Super Bowl LIII, they defeated the LA Rams 13-3.
