BIOGRAPHY
Donovan Wilson was born on February 21, 1995, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is a safety in the National Football League.
He attended Woodlawn High School; during his time there he was All-City Defensive Player of the Year and Class 4A all-state honors as a senior. Had 70 tackles and five forced fumbles and on offense, he made 57 catches for 860 yards and nine touchdowns; also a member of the New Orleans Times-Picayune “Nifty 50”.
He played college football at Texas A&M University; in 2014 he had a solid debut season with 19 tackles, including seven solo stops, in 10 games of action. In 2015 he saw action in all 13 games, starting seven of them at nickel; recorded 63 tackles on the year forced three fumbles and had two fumble recoveries, hurried the quarterback once and broke up three passes on the season.
In 2016 Posted 59 tackles while seeing action in 12 games, earned seven starts at Nickelback; recorded a season-high nine tackles twice in 2016. In 2017 he was Defensive team captain. In 2018 he started in 11 games and was second on the Aggies with 66 total tackles; had two sacks totaling 13 yards and led the team with two interceptions tallied three pass breakups.
The Dallas Cowboys selected Wilson in the sixth round 213th overall of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Starting in every game, Wilson enjoyed a career-best season in 2022; he recorded a team-best 101 total tackles, 5 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble, and four tackles for loss.
On March 14, 2023, Wilson signed a three-year, $21 million contract extension with the Cowboys.
