BIOGRAPHY
Damar Dotson was born on October 11, 1985, in Alexandria, Louisiana. He is an offensive tackle in the NFL. Dotson attended Alexandria Senior High School and played college football at the University of Southern Mississippi.
During high school, Dotson was A three-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Warren Sears at Alexandria (La.) High School. He earned all-state honors his last two seasons. As a senior, he led the team to a 17-5 record and a state playoff appearance, averaging 21.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
During college, Dotson was a part-time starter as a freshman A two-year letter winner for coach Todd Franklin at Southeastern Illinois College. He averaged 10.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
Dotson signed with the Buccaneers in the 2009 NFL Draft. In 2012, Dotson re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a two-year deal. On September 18, Dotson won the starting right tackle job. On March 28, 2013, Dotson signed a new four-year contract extension.
In 2017, Dotson started 12 games at right tackle before November 29, 2017.
In 2018 Dotson started 15 games at right tackle. He was part of an offensive line that helped block for an offense that led the NFL in passing yards per game (320.3), ranking third in total yards per game (415.5) and fourth in yards per play (6.30). Tampa Bay’s offense set team records in net yards (6,648), passing yards (5,125), points scored (396) and first downs (388). The team’s 5,125 passing yards are the fourth-most in a season in NFL history. Dotson started at right tackle against New Orleans and was part of an offense that totaled 529 yards, the second-most in a game in team history, and 48 points. He tied for the most in a game in team history. He helped the Buccaneers record a team-record 34 first downs and total 456 yards of offense, including 114 rushing yards, in an overtime win against Cleveland (10/21).
