BIOGRAPHY
Deante Burton was born on July 12th, 1994, in Manhattan, Kansas, and currently plays cornerback NFL. Burton attended Manhattan High School and played college football at Kansas State University.
During high school, Burton helped the Indians earn an 11-1 record in 2011, he was named a First Team All-Centennial League pick as a senior, captured all-state honors as a defensive back, and had 20 receptions for 327 yards and five touchdowns, while he recorded a pair of interceptions on defense.
Burton played for the Mississippi State University football team from 2013 to 2016. In 2013 Burton saw time in nine games, including the TCU game when he recorded a tackle on punt coverage. In 2014 Burton appeared in all 13 games, making nine starts, he hauled in 17 passes for 171 yards, including a career-long 25-yard catch against Stephen F. Austin. In 2015 Burton started all 13 games, leading the team in catches (38), yards (510) and touchdown receptions (4). He had his best career game in the regular-season finale against West Virginia by hauling in five passes for a career-high 135 yards and a touchdown en route to Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week accolades. In 2016 Burton started all 13 games, tallying 29 catches for 404 yards and a touchdown, had a season-high 82 yards at Baylor, a game in which he became the school’s 29th career 1,000-yard receiver.
Burton signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017. He made the position switch from wide receiver to cornerback while on the practice squad in the 2017 season.
Deante Burton has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. On September 24, 2019, Burton was signed to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad.
In 2020 he was signed to a two-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
