BIOGRAPHY
Davontae Harris was born on January 21st, 1995, in Wichita, Kansas. He is a cornerback in the NFL.
He attended Wichita South High School. Harris posted 40 tackles, five interceptions, and 15 pass breakups as a junior. Harris was also a standout on the track, where he was third in the state in the 100-meter dash and sixth in the country in the 200-meter dash.
In 2014, he played in 14 games as a reserve defensive back and finished the season with 14 tackles, 12 of which were solo stops. Harris recorded a career-high four sacks in the FCS playoff quarterfinal win at Eastern Washington.
In 2015, Harris started all 13 games at cornerback for the Redbirds. He tied for fourth on the team with 78 tackles on the season, 54 of which were solo stops. He led the team with ten pass breakups. Harris set a career-best with ten sacks in a win over Northern Iowa.
In 2017 he was selected to play in the 93rd East-West Shrine Game and invited to participate in the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis. Harris started all 11 games at cornerback for the Redbirds. He led the team and tied for second in the MVFC with 14 passes defended (12 PBU, 2 INT). He was ranked third on the team with 57 tackles, including two sacks and 4.5 TFLs and also credited with three quarterback hurries. He recorded a season-high 11 tackles in win over South Dakota.
The Cincinnati Bengals drafted Harris in the fifth round, 151st overall, of the 2018 NFL Draft. Shortly after signing his rookie contract, Harris began giving back to his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. He donated school supplies to the Wichita Children's home and announced he was also taking donations.
