BIOGRAPHY
Darryl Keith Roberts was born on November 26, 1990, in Lakeland, Florida. He is a cornerback for the New York Jets of the NFL.
He attended Lakeland high school he was credited with 59 tackles, 44 solo and two interceptions as a senior and had 96 tackles, five interceptions, 20 pass breakups and blocked a field goal in his prep career. He also earned second-team all-county honors and Lakeland's best defensive back award as a senior.
He played college football for the Thundering Herd at Marshall University; he played in all 13 games at corner for the Herd. He had 37 tackles (25 solo, 12 assists) with two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and seven pass breakups. In 2012 he redshirted to recover from injury on the offseason.
In 2013 he Started 13 of 14 games as a key performer on nation's most improved scoring defense; he was named All-Conference USA Honorable Mention selection by league coaches. He ranked sixth on the team with 58 tackles (41 solos).
In 2014 he was All-Conference USA first-team corner as voted by league coaches and started all 14 games for C-USA title team and Boca Raton Bowl champion. He ranked fifth on the team with 75 tackles (46 solos), including 3.5 for loss; had one forced fumble.
The Patriots selected Roberts in the seventh round (247th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Roberts was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets on September 4, 2016. On 2018, Roberts played in all 16 games with ten starts, recording 48 combined tackles, seven passes defensed, and an interception.
On March 14, 2019, Roberts signed a three-year contract with the jets.
Roberts signed with the Washington Football Team on March 26, 2021.
