BIOGRAPHY
Damon Paul Harrison was born on November 29, 1988, in New Iberia, Louisiana. He is a nose tackle for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League.
Harrison played college football at William Penn University.
He attended Lake Charles Boston High School; he took on football for his senior year, playing both offensive and defensive line, and was an all-district and All-Southwest Louisiana selection in 2006. He was also named as the team captain and was selected as Lake Charles Boston's Offensive MVP and Defensive MVP along with being chosen as the Lake Charles Boston's Offensive Lineman of the Year.
He played college football for the Statesmen at William Penn University; in 2010 he Registered 47 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, and two pass defenses in ten games his junior year at William Penn.
In 2011 he Posted 60 tackles, two forced fumbles, and a career-best 3.0 sacks as a senior. During his time in college, he started all 44 games played at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He concluded his college career with 224 tackles, 6.0 sacks, four forced fumbles, and four pass defenses.
He signed to the New York Jets as a rookie free agent on May 4, 2012; and played five games on his rookie season. In 2013 he started all 16 games at nose tackle and recorded 36 tackles (32 solo) and 1.0 sack for a Jets defense that was third in league with 88.3 rushing yards allowed per game.
In 2014 he started all 16 games, registered 30 tackles (37 solo) and helped lead the Jets to rank sixth in the NFL in overall defense and fifth against the run. During the 2015 season, he started all 16 games and finished third on the Jets with 39 tackles (32 solo), a half-sack and a forced fumble.
He signed to the New York Giants as an unrestricted free agent on March 10, 2016. In his first season with the Giants, Harrison started all 16 regular-season games, plus the NFC Wild Card Game in Green Bay. Led all NFL defensive tackles and finished third on the team with a career-high 55 tackles (28 solo), and a career-best 2.5 sacks.
In 2017 he started all 16 games for the fifth consecutive season. He was one of five Giants and one of three defensive linemen to start every game and finished second on the Giants with 51 tackles (25 solo) and 1.5 sacks.
He started all seven games played for the Giants before being traded to the Detroit Lions on October 25, 2018.
