BIOGRAPHY
Conor Francis McDermott was born on October 19, 1992, in Nashville, Tennessee. He is an offensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills of the NFL.
In his early years, he played four varsity seasons of football at tight end, offensive and defensive tackle for Ensworth, High School in Nashville, Tennesse. He earned two stars from rivals.com and was named to the 2010 Tennessee All-Conf. team. He helped his team win the 2010 State HS football championship, and helped them reach the state semifinals in 2007 and 2008. He also played basketball for three seasons where his team was ranked #1 in the state in 2011 and he averaged 15.2 ppg, 8.5 RPG, 1.8 SPG in his senior season. He was a finalist for the McDonald's All-America team and was named Tennessee's Mr. Basketball for Div. II-AA. McDermott was also an All-Mid-State first-team selection by Nashville Tennessean. He was the team captain for his football team in 2009 and 2011.
Mcdermott committed to UCLA and saw his first game action as a reserve at offensive tackle. In 2014, he saw his first career start as a blocking tight end against Oregon. He started the last seven games of the season at left tackle where he helped block for the Pac-12's rushing leader Paul Perkins. In 2015, McDermott was a starter in 12 games at tackle. He was a Second-team All-Pac-12 Conference selection. His team surrendered just 14 quarterback sacks, which was the second-lowest total in school history. He also helped pave the way on the ground for Paul Perkins, the third-leading rusher in school history and his second 1,000 yard season. In 2017, he was a starter in all 12 games at left tackle and was named to the watch lists for the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi Award. He was also selected second-team All-Pac-12 Conference by the league coaches.
McDermott entered the 2017 NFL Draft where he was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round. On September 2, 2017, he was waived by the Patriots and on September 3 he was claimed by the Buffalo Bills.
On October 4, 2019, McDermott was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets.
In November 20, 2020, McDermott signed a one-year contract extension with the Jets
